The Divine Library

The Divine Library is situated on The Isle of Light, an island off the coast of the Cragsen Theocracy.

A ferry is needed to traverse the strait, using a Wayfinder to access the Library’s land. The sea around the Library is enchanted, and cannot be traversed safely otherwise.

The library is arranged in a massive circle, with 3 levels overlooking the surrounding sea. The top level’s ceiling is a domed skylight, and stained glass arranged in beautiful figures are present at every other window – Stories of the Spirits. Statues of intricately carved birds extend from the top level of the dome (Stone strix, will animate to defend the Library.)

Looks 3 stories tall, but 6 levels are below the surface – Past (below), present (main 2 levels), future (top level, need special permission to enter). The Isle grows around the Library as time goes on, and whenever an age passes, the Library gains another level.

Patrons of the library are aided by Martide, a mermaid who uses an enchanted chair to maneuver. It is strongly preferred that the Archivists retrieve the information on behalf of visitors.

Run by The Archivists - Librarians (on the top floors), an order of those who wish to preserve and seek knowledge. They have a whole division that goes out to collect records

In the lower levels, The Keepers operate – silent beings who were once mortal, and now… may not be.  They posses deep lore about the world, and have seen things beyond the comprehension of most mortals. While they will bring the upper-level Librarians relevant tomes, they guard other secrets carefully.

In the top level dwells a particular coven of Oracles. These individuals have been gifted the daunting ability of seeing the multitude of future paths. They record the different threads they see, and work to chronicle which threads end up resolving into reality. They do not leave the Library, as they are sworn to not interfere in the unfolding of the future.
